Mountain Mania
JANUARY 23rd AND 24th SLED BLOG
This weekend our service manager Drew, loyal customer Dan Royer and I got out to Revelstoke for Mountain Mania, an event organized by www.snowandmud.com.
Saturday morning we arose to blue bird skies, we all met up at the Boulder cabin at 9:30, and took a group photo (we had over 200 sleds out for the ride). A small group of us then left the cabin and spent the rest of the day finding endless powder, especially on the untracked mini lakes in the behind “the Bullpen”.
Saturday without a doubt was one of the toughest days I have ever had sledding, as the more good spots we found, the tighter the trees got and the steeper the mountain became, until we stranded ourselves just above a water fall and ravine with open holes.
I got the “stuck of the day” when my summit decided to climb a tree all by itself. Thankfully our group were all good riders, as we had to side hill through thick trees to get back to the main trail and meet up with some other friends.
I would like to thank www.snowandmud.com for putting on a great even, the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club for keeping the trail groomed to perfection, the Revelstoke Community center/Emo’s for the great banquet/food, Zala’s Restaurant /lounge and the Day’s inn for treating us great.
